Rules of River Rail Relay |
| 1. Requires 1 Driver with Car (On 4 person team one of the runners can be the driver.) |
| 2. Requires 2 to 4 Hydration Belts to run in. (Included in registration fee or a discount if you bring your own) |
3. Water and Electrolyte is only available at Relay points. Fill up there. |
| 4. Yield to traffic and traffic lights |
| 5. Must relay at assigned relay points |
6. We strongly encourage all 4 person teams to use one runner that is not finishing their leg or starting their leg to go to the relay point with the runner who is starting their leg. The reason for this is because cars will be parked around 100 yards away from the relay point and the finishing leg runner will not know exactly where you are parked. Example: At the start of Leg 2 you will have the Leg 2 Runner and either the Leg 3 or Leg 4 Runner. The Leg 2 Runner will obviously run that next leg when Leg 1 Runner comes in. However Leg 1 Runner will be tired and disoriented so it will be helpful to have Leg 3 or 4 Runner direct them back to the car so they can hurry on to the next leg. It takes between 10 - 15 minutes to drive between each leg and we do not want a team taking 30 minutes finding a runner and back to the car and being late to the next leg. Those teams with only 2 runners it is highly encouraged to drive the car route sometime before the race day to know about where things are so it will not be a surprise on race day. We will have volunteers directing people but knowing prior will always improve your relay point times.
